Download UPDATE.ZIP.

• then switch off ur phone.

• then u should take the recovery mode

To take the recovery mode

• Juz press volume up key , home key , and lock key together.
• Then u will get into the recovery mode.
• U cannot use ur touch screen in recovery mode.
• Use the volume up and down key.
• From that take the option reboot.
• The system will be rebooted
• again switch off the phone

• Take the recovery mode, 

NB: the file update. zip must not be in any folder of the memory card

• From recovery   mode take option,, select from the SD card
• Select update.zip
• It will run now,, Next select reboot.

• Then u will get ur home,, there in the menu , if u see an icon "Superuser the rooting is succeed.

I have rooted my samsung galaxy y. Its very simple
